Grief
About the release
Grief is the sequel to the Light storyline—a rock instrumental that feels less like a song and more like the score to a film. It carries the listener through a world of suspense, tension, and raw electricity.
The story begins where Light left off. The protagonist has claimed vengeance, killing his mother’s murderer, but instead of peace he is consumed by emptiness. The victory is hollow. He retreats inward, building walls around himself, shutting the world out as he wanders through his own private “Limbo.”
With no words to voice his turmoil, the instrumental becomes his only language. Guitars, drums, and distortion echo the silence of a man locked in battle with himself—drowning in guilt, haunted by regret, and questioning whether life itself has any meaning left. Should he let himself sink completely into darkness, or fight to discover a spark that could reignite the light he has lost?

Inspiration and process
Grief is more than just a track—it’s a portrait of inner collapse, an immersion into pain, and a reflection of the endless cycle of blame and retrospection. It captures the feeling of isolation and despair, walking the razor’s edge between destruction and redemption.
The song is inspired by vivid moments of despair—the paralysis of not knowing how to move forward, of feeling trapped inside an inner room with walls you can’t break through.
With this release, the vision was to create an instrumental piece that could stand as the soundtrack to a suspense or thriller film. At the same time, it echoes the spirit of Light through familiar chord progressions and melodies, while introducing new instruments and a more electrified, charged sound.
Notable collaborations & credits
This release is dedicated to my dear friend Tito Herrera who helped me create the final storyboard for the "Light" music video. It wasn't until "Grief" that we were able to work together on a music video and I can't express how happy I'm with the final result and the attention to details that we had in this particular project.
